Miriam Axel-Lute (www.mjoy.org/poetry.html) is a performance-oriented poet from Albany, NY. Her poetry has appeared in many journals and anthologies and has been performed from many stages, classrooms, pulpits, and living rooms. She has three chapbooks, Souls Like Mockingbirds, Packing to Stay, and One Turning: Poems for the Wheel of the Year.

Miriam Axel-Lute (www.mjoy.org/poetry.html) is a performance-oriented poet from Albany, NY. She loves giving people who didn't like poetry in high school a different experience of the genre. Her work has been published in various journals, including The Ledge and the Paterson Literary Review and anthologies, including You Are Here: New York City's Streets in Poetry and Hunger Enough: Living Spiritually in a Consumer Society. She was a finalist in the 2000 Allen Ginsburg Awards, writes a biweekly column in her local altweekly newspaper, and edits a national magazine on affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization. Miriam has given featured readings at venues from pulpits to bookstores to living rooms all over the Northeast, and has three chapbooks, Souls Like Mockingbirds, Packing to Stay, and One Turning: Poems for the Wheel of the Year.
